This past August we finally made it down to West Virgina for the white water rafting trip we have been talking about for over a year.  Bill was back from Afghanistan and the rest of us were in serious need of a break from the real world, so on a Friday we packed up our cars up and left Pittsgrove to arrive in Hico, WV where a cabin and the Kaba’s awaited us.

We stayed 5 nights and had a blast.  Shawn took the time to make a video of some of our trip.  Hiking, white water rafting, and wizard with your childhood friends - does it get any better?

I’ve wanted a dog since I started living on my own 4 years ago, but life was always too busy to accommodate one.  With some recent events as well as having an awesome work environment that is pet friendly, I decided that now was a good time to give it a go.  Being on my own, I didn’t want to responsibility of a puppy, instead I was hoping to adopt a grown dog that had some training and was looking for a good home with someone to love them.  I’ve found that in Angel - it was love at first site and I couldn’t be happier with my decision

On Mother’s Day,Sunday May 10th,  the Swasey/Fiske/Carcione clans all rolled out of bed early to participate in the 2009 Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure® Mother’s Day 5K walk/run for the second year in a row.  The walkers recorded their PR coming in around 50 minutes, almost 10 minutes faster than 2008.  The runners  decided to stay together this year to complete the run as a group and came in around the 40 minute mark.

With over 80,000 people in attendance, this is one of our favorite days of the year, and we are proud to support such a great cause as a family.

It’s official! Gary and I are signed up for our very first full marathon. We decided that as an incentive, and reward, we would take a mini-vacay for this momentous occasion. Planning and paying for the trip should keep us motivated throughout training, and then getting to explore a new destination should be a proper reward post Marathon completion.

With it’s flat, fast, fun course and perfect running weather we settled on the 2010 Rock n’ Roll Arizona Marathon, on January 17! Starting in downtown Phoenix and finishing in the Arizona State University’s Sun Angel Stadium, we’ll be entertained throughout the 26.2 mile course with bands at each mile marker.

I just ordered a copy of Marathon: The Ultimate Training Guide, by Hal Higdon, a contributing editor to Runner’s World and a completer of over 100 marathons.  Let’s hope Hal gets me through this

PharMed Consultants is the unique combination of experience in clinical Hospital Medicine and Hospital Product Commercialization.  These competencies enable PharMed Consultants to provide strategic advice and tactical execution for Hospital marketing executives and healthcare advertising agencies in the target marketing of Hospitalist physicians.  For this project I worked along side the 2 managing partners to come up with this clean, simple and informative site targeted to the Philadelphia, PA market.

Gary and I decided in our quest to complete our first marathon we should join a running club to keep us motivated.  For the past few weeks we’ve been meeting up at the Haddonfield and Moorestown South Jersey Running Companies Store’s for their weekly store runs.  We’ve been having a lot of fun with new routes to run as well as meeting people that are similar to each of us in pace and level.  So far we’re giving the experience 4 thumbs up!

Darlington Designs is a full service Design/Build Firm that provides the residents of Southern New Jersey with a distinctive opportunity to add value and beauty to their home by creating an outdoor extension of their indoor living space.  I was able to work with Katie and Simon Darlington to create a presence on the web for their growing company.  Take a look at the great work they do!

For the second year in a row I was able to help out Lyla with the Down to Earth Art Exhibit’s marketing needs.  In 2007 we launched a website along with the design of a corresponding 8 page brochure to promote the Exhibit.  As we geared up for the 2008 exhibit we decided to take a second look at the website and reevalute our needs.  Since the exhibit changed formats in 2008 we decided to do a redesign that carried over elements from the old site into a new cleaner look that would work for all the upcoming events.  I couldnt’ be more happy with the direction we took the site in and look forward to working with Lyla again next year

During August of 2008 I was able to help out the Toad Fish with their website redesign.  Being a frequent patron to the bar and grill, situated on the Cohansey River, this was a project that was just as much fun as it was rewarding.
